Uploading a screenplay
Supported formats, size limits, and what Ehudai extracts from your script.

Final Draft (.fdx) files aren't imported directly yet — export your script to PDF from your writing app first. Fountain files can be attached in AI Studio, and Fountain text can be pasted into Auteur directly.
What happens on upload
Ehudai reads your script and builds a structured breakdown the whole platform works from:
- Scenes — from your scene headings (
INT./EXT., numbered scenes, or structural breaks; non-English screenplays are handled) - Characters — extracted from dialogue and action lines
- Locations and time of day — from your headings
- A first pass of shots per scene, with cinematography metadata
In AI Studio, attach the script in the chat composer (paperclip). The agent reads it and breaks it into scenes and characters, then you can start asking for changes.
Tips for clean parses
- Standard screenplay formatting parses best: sluglines, character names over dialogue, action paragraphs.
- One script per file. Title pages are fine — the title and author are picked up.
- If your PDF is a scan, Auteur reads it; AI Studio works best with true text PDFs.
- Big script? For AI Studio, stay under 2 MB — a text-only PDF export of even a feature-length script fits comfortably.
